Joanne Neophyton
Resume
I have been a Trainer/Assessor at NBMC for 14 years, and for the last 6 years, the college 'Student Wellbeing Coordinator.'
I graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1988 from Western Sydney University and spent many years working in Paediatric nursing, High Dependency Gastro-intestinal surgical nursing and in Occupational Health Nursing. I worked in nurse education early in my career, facilitating student RN’s from many universities. I have experience in mental health including working as a Registered Nurse at South Pacific Private, and facilitating students in mental health facilities across Sydney. I also fulfilled a dream to become a flight attendent, and worked as a trainer and Cabin Services Manager for Qantas and Jetstar for close to 10 years.
I am a volunteer at Lifeline in the role of Crisis Support Worker and at 'Women’s Resilience Centre', where I mentor women from Australia and New Zealand.
I love using my skills and knowledge to support our students to achieve successful outcomes in their learning and the ‘icing on the cake’ for me is when I see students enter satisfying careers in allied health, community services and counselling private practice. It’s wonderful to hear about the difference my students are making in the lives of others as well as their own.
