Drawing and painting have always been an essential part of Susan's life; her vibrant, brilliantly coloured works in oils, pastel and watercolour, as well as her striking brush and ink pictures, reflect her interest in light and spatial effects.
Extensive travels within Australia and overseas have all lent inspiration to Susan's painting. Trips to Italy, France, the Middle East, Pacific Islands, Indonesia and particularly the African continent have all featured strongly in her art.
With a passionate interest in conversation and wildlife both within Australia and Africa, many of Susan's works feature wildlife and the natural landscapes of Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Botswana.
Her Work depicting Sydney Harbour, Mosman and Balmoral and the many fascinating hidden corners of the harbour also captures the clear and brilliant light of our island continent.
In response to many requests, Susan, a skilled communicator and lecturer, teaches painting and drawing. Her course are carefully structure to techniques, easy to follow steps and demonstrations; and encourage learning to draw and paint as a relaxing and expressive experience for both beginners and more experienced students.
