Spanish Beginners Stage 2 (Elizabeth Holgado)
Course Outline:
A Spanish language class for those who have completed a term of tuition with either tutor. Designed for students wanted to further their skills in Spanish after completing the Spanish Beginners Stage 1 or Travellers course. The course is built on basic knowledge of the language and has been structured to improve your confidence in writing and speaking Spanish. Culture, conversation and grammar will be covered in a social and stimulating environment.
Students will also expand their ability to deal with everyday situations such as talking about family, sport, holidays and much more. This course also will place more of an emphasis on pronunciation and intonation and will assist the student in making their trip to a Spanish speaking country, be it for work or leisure purposes, much more engaging and exciting.
Some topics include for example Grammar and Verbs eg SER and ESTAR ; AR verbs ( present verb);ER verbs ( present verb);IR verbs ( present verb );Verb IR ( to go)
Reflexive verbs
Irregular verbs in the present
Pretérito indefinido ( Past verbs)
Days of the week / Months / seasons of the year
Telling the time and giving directions
What to Bring:
For Elizabeth's class the recommended book is: : Español en Directo Nivel 1A (Libro del Estudiante) by Sanchez, Rios and Dominguez

About the Tutors:
Elizabeth Holgado-Vente - Spanish is Elizabeth's mother tongue. Her experience with languages started in Peru, from where she was born, as a translator of medical texts to and from French. She has a Diploma in French as a Foreign Language (Hon) from the Alliance Francoise, a Certificate in Commercial and Economic French and a Diploma in Business French from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris, France. She is also fluent in Italian and is well acquainted with the German language. Elizabeth has taught Spanish International Baccalaureate in Sydney for some years. She has travelled extensively throughout South and Central America as well as Europe and Asia. She brings to the class knowledge and insights into the different cultures among Spanish speaking people. Elizabeth has taught Spanish for more than 20 years mostly at the Mosman Community College. Teaching gives her a lot of satisfaction.
