Radio Workshop
Course Outline:
The Radio skills Workshop is a fun and engaging introduction to a wide range of radio broadcasting skills, presented by your local community radio station, Radio Northern Beaches. The radio course is aimed at people who are interested in potentially presenting their own weekly show at Radio Northern Beaches, people interested in broadcast media as a career, or anyone looking for a fun and challenging weekend experience!
The day includes sessions covering:
• What is community radio?
• The fundamentals of interviewing
• How to plan and create your radio show
• Radio drama with the Radio Players
• The fundamentals of broadcast presentation and panel operation
• An introduction to digital audio editing
• Experiential sessions on microphone technique
• At the end of the day everyone participates in a live to air show!
"After completing the workshop, participants are welcome to join Radio Northern Beaches and make a regular radio program or be involved in other aspects of operating the radio station (regular membership fee applies). Free formal training is provided for members, 1 night a week for 4 weeks to get started."
Maximum 10 students per workshop. No pre-requisites. Sorry, no concessions.
Please note an enrolling student between the ages of 15 - 17 yrs old must be accompanied by an adult for the day.

About the Tutor:
Radio Northern Beaches is a community radio station for the Northern Beaches community and run by, the Manly-Warringah Media Co-operative. All of the members are volunteers.
The Co-op was formed in 1975 and is set up to cover all types of media: radio, television, film, print, and Internet. Although the Co-op's aims embrace all forms of media, most member's energies are currently directed to radio.
